This new research facility for Environment Canada / Carleton University is a 6 storey concrete frame structure designed for the National Wildlife Research Centre. The building included offices for 40 researchers and many highly specialized laboratories, growth chamber facilities and modifications and updating to the existing systems in adjacent buildings. DSAI and KWC used a sustainable design philosophy throughout the project. User input was of prime importance because of very specialized laboratories; senior staff at KWC undertook all programming, design and construction review of all laboratories.
