Janis Hamacher (OAA, MRAIC)

As a partner with KWC, Janis brings comprehensive industry experience in both private practice and government. Her primary project focus has been on large scale institutional projects, specifically Parliamentary Precinct work, most recently on the award-winning Senate of Canada Building. Driven and organized, she excels at tackling the challenges of managing complex projects by working with and leveraging the expertise available in a specialized and diverse consultant team to deliver a project that meets the client’s functional needs and budget, while maintaining the overarching design vision.

Locally, Janis is involved as a member of her neighbourhood zoning committee and recently participated in the ORSA review sub-committee on the development of the City’s new Official Plan. As a supporter of sustainable design, Janis is pursuing Passive House certification to incorporate PH principals into the office’s sustainable design standards and generally spread the gospel of living lightly on the planet, which she intends to do in both official languages in an attempt to impress her equally bilingual children.
